We are proud to be one of the pioneering restaurants in New York to adopt an innovative in-house water program. By eliminating the need of transportation and the use of bottled water, we've invested in a sustainable solution that allows us to serve fresh, high-quality water directly to our guests.  This commitment reflects our dedication to preserving the environment for future generations.

Kellari Taverna opened its doors in 2006, offering fine Greek-style seafood. Since then, we have embraced seafood sustainability by refraining from serving any ocean species facing extinction, as listed by sustainable organizations.


2016 - Kellari Taverna is proud to announce a formal partnership with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watc

Our Sustainable Atmosphere

 Kellari is dedicated to sustainability in every aspect, from food to paper goods and building materials. The wooden beams adorning our ceiling were reclaimed from a building demolished in downtown Manhattan, discovered by our owners at a Brooklyn lumber yard in 2004. Estimates suggest these beams are nearly 600 years old.

 Kellari is dedicated to sustainability in every aspect, from food to paper goods and building materials. The wooden beams adorning our ceiling were reclaimed from a building demolished in downtown Manhattan, discovered by our owners at a Brooklyn lumber yard in 2004. Estimates suggest these beams are nearly 600 years old.

Our wooden boards are crafted from recycled walnut wood, found and designed by our special friend Bobbie on Fire Island. The chef's table, made from African birch, was uniquely sourced and designed by Ralph Lauren, making it a one-of-a-kind piece with no other existing in these measurements.

Chatham Shellfish Company has been cultivating Chatham Oysters on its lease site since 1976. OCTOPUS

Sourced off the sun-drenched coasts of Spain and Morocco, the warm waters mean better yields and a higher fat content.

Pot-caught by artisanal vessels, fishing runs deep for our Octopus suppliers. The fishermen go out in small boats to sink pots into the ocean. Because they don't use traps, it's a more sustainable way to fish that helps care for stocks and maintain a healthy biomass.

CALAMARI

Yacht calamari is industry known to be the highest quality Indian squid imported to the United States.
