Above the bar at Kellari, the words “Enter as Strangers, Leave as Friends” are printed on a placard. And it is this feeling of warmth and hospitality that pervades the entire experience at Kellari, an impossibly cozy Midtown gem, with wood-beamed cathedral ceilings and walls warmed in sunset hues.
Kellari, Greek for “cellar,” offers 350 wines by the bottle and dozens by the glass. Our selections offer ample choices for pairing with an extensive menu of contemporary Hellenic fare.
It’s a classic image that comes to mind when many think of Greece: sitting under an umbrella by the seaside, with ouzo or wine and a plate of freshly grilled octopus. It’s delicious, and we try to create the same atmosphere at Kellari.

This was an unexpected find in New York. I could believe the excellent Greek food this restaurant is preparing. Coming from Greece to New York it was a surprise. Also very affordable for it’s level. These people are very proud serving Greek food. I found the fish and meat the freshest.
In addition they had traditional dishes such as Moussaka or mouth watering dishes like Garides stin Schara, lamb, lemon and oregano chicken. And the service very typical as all Greek do: Friendly and warm.Steve Yianas
Had some of my best gatherings at Kellari with friends and family over the last couple years, since I discovered it.Kathy Smith
